Switzerland is without doubts the best country for the railfan, a land where the train and the landscapes are the actual protagonists: starting from the inside of a deposit to the summit of a mountain, from the lines of the North which have seen the last services of glorious locomotives such as the Ae4/7 to the lines of the Federal Railways along the sides of the lakes we meet trains and railways which have entered the legend: San Gottardo, Ferrovie Retiche, "Glacier Express" and many others. In many cases the train has become a fundamental element for the movements: each railway, even the smallest, which climbs on the steepest slopes, is connected to the others, realizing a service of public trasport which is invied all over the world. |
