The
first normal gauge Diesel locos put in service by the FS were the ones
of the groups D.341 working by electrical transmission and D.342 by
hydraulic one, whose prototypes were built in 1957. The D.443, the D.343, the
D.345
and the D.445, the so called
"unified Diesel locos", started to be used since 1967. We
can't forget some prototypes, such as the D.442, with Bo'Bo' wheel-and-axel set
and the D.461 with Co'Co' one. The world of the shunters and the locos
for heavy maneuvres present a very numerous serie of machines and
prototypes, often classified in the same group, but under different series.
To be remembered the D.143, ex Ne.120 from America, as well as the modern
D.146 which are being
delivered nowadays to modernize the park of the Diesel locos. |
